Disney Boardwalk Engagement Session: Megan & Ryan
Megan and Ryan met through Ryan’s best friend who was dating Megan’s sister at the time; they’re now married. Ryan proposed to Megan at Gaylord Palms, the first place where they said "they love each other." Ryan made a video that Megan watched on his phone and at the end the video, Ryan said “turn around”, and that's when the magic happened. Ryan was on one knee with a ring. Of course, Megan said, "Yes!" What did you do on your first date? Megan and Ryan had their first date at Howl-o-scream at Busch Gardens! It was a lot of running, screaming, and laughing; super fun!
What do you guys like to do for fun? Megan and Ryan love to visit the beach, go wine tasting, or do something novel and spontaneous. They also like to eat and drink, play Magic the Gathering, watch movies, and go out with friends and family.
How has wedding planning gone thus far? "We've been engaged for 3 years, had a long distance relationship for a year (with a few bumps in the road), Ryan's Mom getting cancer, and having to cancel our wedding in Missouri. We are glad to finally get things done for this special celebration."-Megan
Let me share a little bit about these two right here! I met them at a local Bridal Show in Orlando, Florida. Ryan approached my booth with his charming smile and warm demeanor. He complimented my setup and even mentioned my brand colors and how everything was so pleasing to the eye. As I thanked him, I noticed Megan looking at my images and the visuals playing on my display screen of different weddings. Megan was so captivated by the canvases that I had on display. She had the cutest smile on her face the entire time. I also had the pleasure of meeting Megan's parents that day. We talked for a few more minutes, Ryan asked a few questions (related to his wedding day), we laughed a little bit more, and then they booked me right on the spot. We talked about what look they had in mind for their Engagement Session, and now I have the honor of shooting their wedding this February 2018. I can't wait!
Their Engagement session began at 3:30 p.m. at Disney’s Boardwalk Hotel. Megan really wanted to have her Engagement Session there, the weather was gorgeous, and I was ready to rock their session. We started off the session with a little flirtatious exchange between Ryan and Megan, and then I continued their session throughout the rest of the boardwalk.
We even had a little stop at one of the Brewer spot along the boardwalk where Ryan and Megan enjoyed a Washington Apple Shot.
It's normal for people to be nervous if they've never had an Engagement Session before or shot with a professional. I have my signature ways to make people feel comfortable, but if they want to grab a drink during their session by all means they should do so, and that's what Megan did. It made for some great candids too!
